Ethiopia and Egypt disagree again on the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam

Back in August 2014 Ethiopia, Egypt and Sudan agreed to do more studies on the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam. A twelve member committee of experts will be formed selected by the three countries to conduct the study. The Tripartite National Committee has met twice so far one in Addis Ababa and the second in Cairo. The third meeting was scheduled to take place in Khartoum the capital city of the Sudan, but it got canceled because of disagreements between Ethiopia and Egypt. 87% is completed for Ethiopias Gibe III dam

Ethiopia Electric Power has announced that 87% of the Gibe III hydropower dam on the Omo River has been completed. Once complete, the projects ten 187MW turbine units will increase the countrys energy coverage by 94%. Two of the units are expected to begin generating electricity by Spring 2015. Other projects around the country are also progressing well and existing hydro dams, such as Tekeze and Gilgel Gibe II, are being expanded. 20 years prison time for the man who killed his wife of three children on minor dispute

The 39 years old Getachew Daba has committed the crime on June, 2013 at the Welmera woreda, Burkusum Geba kebele of Oromia special zone. Getachew has killed his wife, Kefene Diriba after she asked him of his late arrival. He arrived at home drunk at 8:00 p.m. According to FBC’s news report the victim has asked her husband as to why he was late since the family was in a difficulty to manage the untamed horse that they own. Suspects charged with attempting to establish Islamic state given guilty verdict
