Ethiopian MMA Fighter Afrem Gebreanenia Defeats Brandon Villanueva In Three Rounds

Ethiopian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter and UFC hopeful Afrem Gebreanenia is seeing his hard work and training pay off, as he defeated American Brandon Villanueva in this Saturdays Iowa Challenge 108 Kickboxing event, in Sioux Falls, Iowa. Gebreanenia, who is a technically sound combattant specializing in Taekwondo, gave Villanueva more than he could handle, as Gebreanenias array of strikes and blows meant three rounds were all that was required for the Ethiopian to notch the victory. Dismissed Kotebe University Second Year Student Hanged Herself

Kotebe University’s second year student had hanged herself on Saturday in the University compound after she learned that she is dismissed from the University for Good. According to sources, the student had taken supplementary exam on a certain course after she first got an “F”. But after she scored the same “F” score again, she had been asking the lecturer for any reconsideration to no avail. Then she hanged herself on a tree inside the University compound. Police Found Body of Missing Ethiopian Mother

Late Sunday, the City of Wylie confirmed recovery of the body of missing woman Almaz Gebremedhin. She was last seen October 2, 2014. The city reports a search and rescue team notified authorities after discovering her van in the Muddy Creek Farms pond at 2500 McMillen Road in Wylie. A dive team discovered Gebremedhin inside the van. The 42-year-old woman was a married mother of two children, ages 10 and 8. She and her husband are natives of Ethiopia. A private search and recovery team from Illinois found the van using sonar. Gebremedhins family has been notified by Wylie investigators. Exactly how the van ended up in the pond ...
