A mother has given birth to a 6.5 Kg baby today at the Ghandi memorial hospital in Addis; FBC writes. The mother has previously given birth to two babies through surgery who were also over sized. As Dr. Dereje Alemayehu of Ghandi Memorial told FBC, both the mother and the baby are in a very good condition.

The UN Agency for Children and Education said the signing ceremony will be held in light of the appointment of Abelone as an advocate for children. Kazanchis is gearing up for more high rise development as officials of Woreda eight, of the Kirkos district, seal 140 houses occupying 26ha of land, to be cleared and prepared for lease. A further 20ha land will be cleared in the next fiscal year. The 140 houses are all kebele properties. There are also 60 houses that are either privately owned or owned by the Government Houses Agency (GHA). The sealing of the private houses has been delayed until officials have worked out the compensation due to owners. Police in Malawi’s Karonga near the border with Tanzania have intercepted 100 illegal Ethiopian migrants who entered the country without authorised documents, a spokesperson said Tuesday.Karonga police spokesperson Enock Livason said the Ethiopian migrants were arrested together with five Malawians who had facilitated their illegal entry.
